 | The Green Mountain Spinnery Knitting Book
Contemporary and Classic Patterns
Margaret Klein Wilson and the Green Mountain Spinnery
Gorgeous knitting patterns designed for the colorful all-natural yarns produced by the Green Mountain Spinnery of Putney, Vermont.
The Green Mountain Spinnery was founded twenty years ago with a distinctly Vermont mission: to produce the highest quality all-natural yarns, to help sustain regional sheep farming, and to develop environmentally sound ways to process natural fibers. Since then the collective has grown and thrived, designing and producing richly colored all-natural yarns in alpaca, mohair, wool, and organic cotton that are known and loved by knitters and weavers across the country. The yarns, produced in their mill in rural Vermont with vintage equipment and untouched by bleach or chemicals, are available in a spectacular array of 55 colors.
Now in this beautiful, inviting book, the Green Mountain Spinnery has collected for the first time more than 30 of their contemporary and classic patterns. Beautiful full-color photographs, pattern charts, and schematics accompany detailed knitting instructions for appealing sweaters, vests, cardigans, hats, scarves, children's sweaters and accessories, socks, and mittens.
I love the palette of Mountain Mohair. It's such a pleasure to see the colors . . . the yarn blooms and softens beautifully when washed.
Melissa L., Vermont weaver
I love the whole idea of how the Spinnery began, using local wool, not from a zillion miles away.
Chris C., New York knitter
I know I can count on . . . beautiful patterns and gorgeous yarns for a product that's satisfying beyond belief.
Carol H., Connecticut knitter
